Hunter and Emily, from the bottom of my heart I wish you a million congratulations. You took all the twists and turns with your wedding planning and date shifting, but never once lost sight of what was really important. Your meticulously planned wedding (holy moly, you were great at that!) changed one hundred times, but your love for each other beat out that darn virus. I have loved working with you and your family and friends. I am honored to be able to photograph your Cider Gallery wedding so you can look back at all the love that was both present and afar for your marriage. There are so many images included in this Cider Gallery photography blog so that you can share your day with all those who could not attend in person.
Emily and Hunter’s wedding whirlwind started with postponing their original March 21st wedding date with just a week notice. “As the days grew closer to March 21st, it was evident that the Coronavirus was going to affect Emily and Hunter’s wedding more than a little bit of rain would.” They really wanted everyone to be able to safely attend. So they rescheduled for November 21st, 2020. “The date was not planned. It was scheduled based on availability, however, as Meg (Emily’s mom) announced, it aligns with 3/21 still. For all you math whizzes out there, in the base 2 number system, 11 = 3. So according to the base 2 number system we’re still keeping with our original wedding date!”
And then round two of Coronavirus whirlwind wedding adjusting came: “Emily and Hunter will be married in Lawrence on November 21st. However, unfortunately, they are unable to accommodate the full guest list at their venues due to safety concerns. Emily and Hunter thank everyone who has supported them throughout this long, drawn-out process and look forward to celebrating with everyone either via livestreaming or in-person when it is safe to do so! “
The Campanile & School of Engineering
These images are taken in the same location that Hunter proposed to Emily. And then came the rain….and cold…and wind. We had sentimental and beautiful outdoor spots picked out to do the rest of the photography, but the rain and cold moved us indoors. Did you EVER think you would end up taking photos for your wedding day in the school of engineering? But in keeping with their amazing attitudes, it didn’t stop us from creating some special images.
Cider Gallery Photography | Wedding + Reception
The Cider Gallery ceremony and reception were both lovely and intimate. Then we headed out into the light drizzle for some photography in front of their favorite breakfast joint in Lawrence.
