It’s fall. The leaves are beautiful again: just starting to turn colors here in Kansas City. The sky is grey, but hey, that’s why I have all that lighting equipment for, right? Not that I won’t take the natural sun when it wants to poke its head out. But the best part? When Amy and Travis travel all the way from St. Louis to take photos with their favorite Kansas City engagement photographer. Kidding. Kinda. Now, I gotta be transparent here. Amy and Travis are family, and I adore the heck out of them. So, I might have had a hard time picking my favorite images. I also suspect that it’s because they are too good looking for any couple. That’s just not fair to the rest of the population. So, let me ask you. What are your favorites?
Oh, and something else is important here. Amy and Travis are from a farm in Kansas. There is a lot of heart back home, and we always try to incorporate that heart into images. So, we went for a location that felt as country as we could swing. Heritage Park fits that bill with its gravel roads, iron bridges, colorful trees, and tall grass. But it’s also special because of Amy’s love of horses. Her equestrian path has placed her at Heritage Park for horse shows many times. I thought that was neat.
Maybe it’s good that we didn’t photograph their engagement session at the farm, because the last time I was there for a session, we started a fire. More on that here.
