These are some highlights from the Welch Family. We ran, jumped, and skipped. There was a rousing game of Candyland. Sometimes the kiddos held still long enough to capture a quick family portrait. There was ring around the rosey, family storytime, and a walk to the golf course where they play on the putting green. I love the family interactions of the wali there: the blowing of a dandelion, balancing on the cement blocks in front of their school, and the school bus. This is the way family photography can be. This family session is very special to me for several reasons. First, I photographed her sister’s wedding, their own wedding, and each of these kiddos newborn sessions (they have several images featured in my newborn gallery!). Through this time, I have gotten to know them and am blessed by their friendship. I love how sweet Ron and Bridget are with the kids. Their bright personalities and decor make it a fun photographic experience. And their home…
The last newborn session we did, we took a walk around the block. Bridget showed me her dream home along the way and told me about how it was her grandmother’s dream home as well. When she was a kid, they would admire the colorful vases in the windows. Well, Ron and Bridget now own that home, and some of the original vases. In this family photography session, Bridget read a family favorite book and those vases are featured prominently. I love seeing the house number and American flag in their portraits. I love the stone wall that we walked by so many years ago. Most of all, I love creating visual memories from them to look fondly at for years to come.
