Matthew + Danielle | Leawood Engagement Session

June 24, 2019

Oh, goodness! This Leawood engagement session has me so excited. Matthew and Danielle were so easy in front of my lens and even more relaxed with each other. Just look the way he looks at her and the way she laughs with him! It’s easy to see their strong connection. This is Danielle’s story of how they met:

We met in 2005. Matthew was 18 and in college, and I was 15, and in high school. We met through mutual friends, through the band Matthew played bass in. We were “acquaintances”, if anything, but a year and a half later, we became Facebook friends, in winter 2006. Fast forward to 2012/2013, we began communicating through FB when one of us would post about baseball. In June 2013, Matthew wished Danielle “happy birthday” through a FB message, and that kicked off an actual friendship. After a couple of months of being friends, we had our first date and have been together ever since!

We love playing with our dog Sadie: walks with her when it is warm. Matthew and I love baseball (Royals and Cardinals, and SF Giants for Danielle.) We watch a lot of movies- we have a tradition of Bad Movie Saturday, where Saturday night is almost always reserved for movie night. Also, we like to host game nights with our friends and family.

For this Leawood engagement session, we knew that Matthew and Danielle wanted a pretty park setting, playing with their dog Sadie and the bright colors of Prairie Fire. I can’t wait for their wedding coming up in September at Good Shepard and Executive Hills Polo Club with Floyd & Co!
