This sweet family wanted photography in their Leawood home enjoying time together. Play works so wonderfully for lifestyle family sessions because it captures those little moments often overlooked in a standard family portrait session. It explores those expressions, uses favorite areas of the home, and showcases activities that are cherished. This beautiful afternoon, we played Go Fish, made some art, baked in the kitchen (or more accurately, just enjoyed the measuring spoons and flour). Upstairs, we explored Madeline’s bedroom and all her favorite toys. The family played a competitive round of Candy Land, princess style. They snuggled and laughed. Photographing a family at play is always a lot of fun. I am hopeful that they will remember all the sweet and fun moments of their life, right now, every time they look through the images in the future.
