Chris and Priscilla’s intimate Kansas City wedding and reception were one of those days that left me with a lasting sense of joy and gratefulness. First, the couple wore smiles that would not quit all day long. They were so sweet together, and not to mention stunning. And their small gathering of friends and family were supportive, proud, and fun to be around. Also, you can’t go wrong with a wedding ceremony at The Pilgrim Chapel and a reception at the Nelson Art Museum (their cocktail hour and reception were in the Block modern wing’s Lens room) but because both venues are amazingly charming and beautiful.
Before the wedding ceremony, we took time to get some relationship portraits of the couple on the grounds of the Pilgrim Chapel. It was a hot summer day (that’s August for you in KC!) and being from overseas, they were not sure how much hot they could handle, but they were champs and we captured some amazing relationship-telling photographs for them. After the ceremony and cocktail hour, I asked Chris & Priscilla what their favorite part of the day was so far. Without a doubt, they replied, “the readings”.
A quick kiss as they newlyweds sneak out the chapel doors.
The Lens Room At The Nelson Atkins Art Museum
I adore the time for portraits right after the couple’s ceremony. It’s pure magic.
The cocktail hour, dinner, cake cutting & impromptu toastsI love the warmth and love present when a small gathering sits down to eat together. The meal was amazing from the salad to the main course, to the desert. Oh, that cake! To die for…
