Congrats to Anna & Jay! Your Kansas City wedding and reception went off without a hitch, even if it was very hot summer day in July. The bridal party got ready at the church, Sacred Heart of Jesus in Shawnee, where the guys joked around with each other and the girls shared heartfelt moments (and some happy tears). Family and friends gathered to witness the saying of “I do”. Anna helped her son, Noah, get ready for the day. He liked seeing himself in the mirror and also likes Spider Man, so we got a great combination of getting ready and spidey webs.
Jay surprised the special ladies in his life with personalized handkerchiefs (joyful tears are a thing with this group, and he knew it) and I think they came into some good use throughout the wedding day. The ceremony was celebrated by a priest who had very touching words for the couple. After the family formals, we headed to Leavenworth Riverfront Community Center for as much photography as the group could handle on the incredibly hot day while their family and friends played games and ate popcorn in the air conditioning.
Reception:
The reception was decorated beautifully with white drapery, twinkling lights, and gorgeous flowers. Dancing is what brought this couple together on that pivotal evening of country line dancing. They are really great dancers, and their well choreographed first dance did not dissapoint.
A lot was said during the toasts, so we had the opportunity to document the love and laughter.
Congrats again! It was an honor to capture your wedding day.
