Ruthie & Travis did it! They pledged their love and commitment for each other in front of those who love them dearly in a backyard wedding ceremony, they took photographs in their gorgeous wedding attire, listened to heartfelt toasts, and danced as husband & wife during their reception. Life threw them some curve balls in getting to those moments, but you can tell from their smiles how wonderful their day was.
We met at the Raphael Hotel for the first look and some portraits. I know it is shaping up to be a great day when I get teary-eyed in the first few moments.
Nest stop: portraits with the bridal party! We were worried about rain, but the drops stayed away during our portraits outside of the Kemper Museum.
How romantic are those veil images? The adoration seeps from those two.
Then to The Nelson Museum of Art for a few moments.
Just look at those smiles! I’m telling you, all day long….smiles.Family formals in the backyard of their ceremony site.
And some moments with friends and family before the ceremony.
It looked like rain could start at any moment, but we decided that it was worth an attempt at the outdoor ceremony. I think heaven was helping because the first raindrops fell just after the ceremony and toasts finished. It was a beautiful ceremony and vow renewal. My favorite was the blessing where everyone prayed over the couple.
It did end up raining (a lot!) during dinner and the reception. Besides being great timing for their big day, it also ended with some fun photographs.
